Geriatric Psychiatry

Also known as geropsychiatry, is a subspecialty of psychiatry that focuses on the mental health care of older adults.

It addresses the unique psychiatric and psychological needs that arise with aging, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health disorders in elderly populations.

A referral is required for Geriatric Medicine and Geriatric Psychiatry

Musculoskeletal and Joint assessments may be referred, or patients can contact us directly

Cognitive assessment.
Deprescribing and medication review / polypharmacy.
Preventative medicine in the older adult.
Sleep concerns.
Falls and mobility issues.
Chronic Pain.
Behavioural symptoms of dementia.
Incontinence.

What is the referral process?

Referrals can be made by fax: 403-538-6433.
Forms are available above OR you can send us a referral letter.
Referrals will be accepted from: physicians, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists (with prac ID).
We will confirm the receipt of the referral within 2 weeks.
Patient will be notified directly of their appointment.
